The former Olympic champion Josefa Idem guest of the University of San Marino

With a past as an athlete and politician, she rose to prominence in the Evolution Forum workshops

Josefa Idem, former Italian Minister for Equal Opportunities, Sport and Youth Policies with a past as a world and Olympic champion in canoeing, was a guest this morning at the University of the Republic of San Marino as part of a workshop on soft skills, scheduled from Monday 5 to Friday 9 February.

The initiative was organized by the degree courses in Management Engineering of the University of San Marino in collaboration with Evolution Forum, an organization active for fifteen years in the managerial training of commercial teams and for the development of personal growth, together with Innovation Forum, which takes care of the digital strategy.

In front of thirty students, Idem recounted her experiences and shared her vision in light of the sporting and political exploits that saw her wear dozens of medals around her neck at the World Championships, European Championships and Olympic Games, in which she took part from Los Angeles 1984 to London 2012.

A member of the Letta government in 2013, she subsequently established herself as a consultant and motivational speaker. By curating the workshop, part of a five-day in-depth study focused on skills that include critical thinking, problem solving, emotional intelligence and human resources management, Idem thus becomes part of a series of speakers that includes, among others, Gianluca Spadoni, entrepreneur and author, trainer and speaker who over the years has led initiatives aimed at more than 350.000 professionals.

“Having our students undertake unconventional educational paths allows them to effectively deal with aspects of the surrounding reality and their own personality – explains Leonardo Tagliente, deputy director of the degree courses in Management Engineering – as well as achieving increasingly important skills for their growth social and cultural.”

In addition to classroom activities, as part of the initiative the students took part in visits to various local entities, such as the Community of San Patrignano and Colombini Group.
