The distribution of works on the events and characteristics of the Titan, curated by the Historical and Legal Department, has been extended until the beginning of September
About 3.000 books from the University of the Republic of San Marino were donated on June 6, during a specific day dedicated to the free distribution of volumes, and in the two following weeks, when further spontaneous requests were granted. On average, excluding Saturday and Sunday, about 300 copies were delivered each day.
Given the interest, the delivery of the volumes conceived and created by the Historical and Legal Department has been extended and will continue until September 1st, from Monday to Friday, from 8:14 to 11:16, with the exception of the period from August XNUMXth to XNUMXth. Available, until sold out, the first forty titles of the “Quaderni” series of the Sammarinese Center for Historical Studies.
The texts address topics such as the economy of the Titan from the Late Middle Ages to the 19th century, the patrimonial dynamics and social stratification in the 17th and 18th centuries, the trade union and politics in the contemporary age, the climate and meteorology in the 18th century, the population and kinship in the modern era. The in-depth analyses involve, among other topics, tourism, commerce, education, culture, health and more.
The University of San Marino, in addition to making the volumes available with the aim of spreading historical research and knowledge in the community and beyond, supports those interested in the free collection of the works with information and suggestions offered by the staff of the university library. Delivery takes place at the headquarters in via Salita alla Rocca 44, in the historic center. Containers (envelopes, boxes or similar) for transporting the texts are not provided.
The books have been published since 1993. The Department of History and Law has organized for over three decades, among other initiatives, a PhD in Historical Sciences run by the Higher School of Historical Studies. The scientific council includes academics such as Luciano Canfora, Maurice Aymard, Paulo Butti de Lima, Laura Barletta and Franco Cardini.
