The directors of the Confucius Institute of San Marino, Maria Katya Sciarrino and Zhao Jun, attended the inauguration of the stand of the Headquarters of the Confucius Institutes, the central institution dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of Chinese language and culture worldwide, during the International Children's Book Fair taking place in Bologna from April 4 to 7. On the first day of the event, the leaders of the Confucius Institute of San Marino, established in 2015 through an agreement between the University of the Republic of San Marino and Beijing City University, represented San Marino during the opening speech by Ping Luo, counselor of the Education Office of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Italy. "We are very pleased with our participation," said Sciarrino, "because it has allowed us to strengthen our relationships, especially with colleagues from other Italian Confucius Institutes, whom we met at the international meeting held in Shanghai last December. In addition, we are launching some interesting collaborations with the Confucius Institute of Bologna." Our colleagues based in the Emilian capital have set up an exhibition of children's textbooks dedicated to the study of the Chinese language, as well as other reading material on the culture of the Eastern country, at the fair.
