“The end of large-scale industry and blue-collar labor in the economically most advanced part of the world has destroyed the cultural, social and economic foundations of modern paradigms of equality, and has left a void that disorients and puts us at risk. How to get out of it?”
The question and its premise, posed in the introduction to the book "Equality - a new vision on the thread of history" by the historian Aldo Schiavone (Giulio Einaudi Editore), will be at the center of the thirteenth day of the series of seminars "Stories of the present time ( politics, economics, culture) – equality, community, rights”, organized within the framework of the research doctorate in Historical Studies of the University of the Republic of San Marino.
At 16 tomorrow, Tuesday 13 October, a seminar is in fact scheduled in which the author, a professor at the University of Rome 'La Sapienza', will speak in the university seat of the Ex Tribunal, in the historic center of Titano, together with the director of the Department of History of the University of San Marino, Luciano Canfora. Title of the lesson: "The powerful myth of equality".
