The Philatelic and Numismatic Office and the University of San Marino have teamed up to create a series of stamps celebrating U.S.-San Marino consular relations.

The San Marino Philatelic and Numismatic Office, together with the University of the Republic of San Marino, announces the release of a series of stamps dedicated to the bicentenary of the U.S. consular presence in Florence and consular relations with the Republic of San Marino, called "Insieme 200." The work represents the encounter between San Marino and the United States through the interplay of the colors of their respective flags, which appear on the battlements of the Palazzo Pubblico tower. Acting as a bridge between the two states is Florence with the Ponte Vecchio, one of the city's architectural symbols.

The sketches are by Giuseppe Digeronimo, a member of the teaching staff of the Design degree program at the University of San Marino. His work represents a new step in the fruitful collaboration that saw another University representative, Ilaria Ruggeri, curate the series dedicated to the first female regent couple of San Marino, winners of the 2018 Asiago International Philatelic Art Prize for the best issue produced worldwide in 2017.

In agreement with the U.S. consular authorities accredited in Florence and San Marino, an event sponsored by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs will be held in 2019 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the U.S. consular presence in Italy. A dedicated postal issue is part of this celebration.
