The University of San Marino joins the European University Association and signs a memorandum of understanding with the Croatian University of Zagreb.

Membership in the European University Association, entry into the UniAdrion association, and the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Croatian University of Zagreb have characterized the University of the Republic of San Marino's recent international activities, leveraging the opportunities offered by relationships with other academic institutions and membership in organizations on the continent.

"The European University Association (EUA)," explains Rector Corrado Petrocelli, "is the largest and most comprehensive university association in Europe." With over 850 universities represented, it now includes 49 countries, thanks to the University of San Marino's entry as a full member.

"This opens up opportunities for us to participate in projects, events, and other activities for mutual exchange and learning," the Rector continues. "It also offers unique opportunities to shape European policies and initiatives regarding higher education and research. We are proud to have passed the selection process and to have added another piece to the progress of the internationalization of the University of San Marino. We are increasingly oriented toward full and effective European and international integration."

EUA membership is accompanied by membership in the UniAdrion association, which brings together 51 universities in initiatives such as training courses, postgraduate diplomas, and joint research projects in the Adriatic-Ionian region. Active in areas such as sustainable tourism and environmental quality, it promotes programs such as a summer school on "Migration and Mobility in the Balkans" and the "E-Capital Culture" start-up school, dedicated to developing the entrepreneurial skills of young people in the Western Balkans.

Regarding relations between individual universities, a memorandum of understanding was signed on May 9th between the University of San Marino and the University of Zagreb, one of Croatia's most established academic institutions, founded in 1669. The agreement lays the foundation for the exchange of faculty and students, the development of joint research projects and conferences, the organization of cultural initiatives, and the promotion of seminars. The five-year agreement, signed by the Rectors of the two institutions, Corrado Petrocelli and Damir Boras, strengthens international collaborations involving the University of San Marino in countries such as China, Brazil, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Iceland, and Japan.
