The presence of the Titan in the activities of the Italian Superior Council of Public Works is expanding, thanks to the activity of the University of the Republic of San Marino. The working group called to prepare the new technical performance standards for special road tender specifications, which has already seen the participation of the professor and researcher of the degree course in Civil Engineering of the University of San Marino Andrea Grilli, is joined by in fact the director of the Autonomous State Company for Public Works, Matteo Casali, who joins the body in the wake of close relations last September as part of the international Summer School on roads and the environment hosted by the University of San Marino and organized by the Italian Society of Road Infrastructures, with experts from countries such as Brazil, Slovenia and Spain.
"The working group, which meets in Rome every month, works to define a document which, for the different types of roads, defines the processing techniques, the acceptability requirements of the materials and the performance characteristics of the finished works" Grilli explains. “Casali's presence – continues the teacher and researcher – will allow the contents to be understood at the time of their creation for a prompt and conscious application also in the San Marino area. It will also be possible to indicate the specific needs and particularities of San Marino to ensure that they are taken into consideration. This initiative will therefore make it possible to take better account of any particular needs of the republic's road infrastructures. The document that will be adopted – concludes Grilli – will be extended to the Titan”.
The working group includes individuals from universities in areas such as Turin, Rome, Palermo, Naples, Parma, Reggio Calabria, Brescia and Padua.
