A one-on-one meeting with Argentine director Juan Diego Solanas to discover the secrets behind the greatest films. This is the opportunity offered by the University of the Republic of San Marino, which, thanks to the synergy between the University's Department of Human Sciences and the company Cinephil San Marino, is inviting enthusiasts and the curious to gather on Friday, December 16th at the Cinema Concordia in Borgo Maggiore. Starting at 9:00 PM, the program includes a public meeting with the director, followed by a screening of the film "Upside Down," a feature film that blends romance and science fiction, shortlisted for awards such as the Saturn Award, Genie Award, and Jutra Award. During the evening, Solanas will be joined by Carlo Romeo, director of the San Marino RTV broadcaster; Philippe Macina, director of Cinephil San Marino; and Giovanna Cosenza, director of the Advanced Training Course in Audiovisual and Film Production.
As part of the course organized by the University of San Marino, Solanas will be teaching two seminars over two days, Saturday, December 17th, and Sunday, December 18th. Attendance is available for €250, for a total of 12 hours of lessons.
"The program offers a very comprehensive education, alternating theory and practice," Solanas explains, commenting on the lessons. "This gives students a comprehensive view of the complex and fascinating world of cinema, where stories are told through images." Friday's event, which carries no surcharge over the regular Cinema Concordia rates, is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Education and Culture. Registration for the seminars can be done at www.unirsm.sm by visiting the course page, which can be accessed from the "course offering" section.
