The University of San Marino surpasses 800 students and opens a new campus in the World Trade Center in Dogana.

There are 870 registered enrollments in the various courses at the University of the Republic of San Marino for the 2017–18 academic year.
This figure consolidates the positive trend of recent years and confirms the quality of the University of San Marino's educational programs, which is preparing for the inauguration of its new Dogana campus, located in the World Trade Center on the third floor of Tower B.
The ceremony is scheduled for 16 pm on Monday, October 22.

The facility, which expands the university's available spaces and meets the needs of the growing number of students, spans over 900 square meters and includes eight classrooms, each accommodating 30 to 50 students, a staff room, a study room, and a 100-seat lecture hall. There are also areas set up for video projections and streaming services, as well as a computer area with 35 computers. The spaces will primarily host the degree programs in Management Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction, and Land Management.
The new World Trade Center building will also host initiatives such as master's degrees and advanced training courses, with the capacity to handle a flow of 250 students per day.

The location was selected through a public tender and after an internal University analysis that highlighted the characteristics and needs of its students.
Approximately 90% of the students enrolled in the degree programs that will be located in Dogana are locals or commuters, who will benefit, among other things, from convenient connections to Rimini and the A14 motorway. This situation is different from the Design program, which has the largest population of non-residents and will continue to be located in the historic center, within the Ancient Monastery of Santa Chiara. Starting in the 2018-19 academic year, the Communication and Digital Media program will be added to the Design program in the Omerelli district, thus strengthening the university community that populates the upper part of the republic. Incidentally, the University's current estimates for rent paid by students in the historic center are around one million euros per year.

The building that until last month housed the degree courses in Management Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction, and Land Management, known as the former Courthouse in the historic center, is now the new home of the Department of Historical Studies, the Sammarinese Law Institute, and the University Library.

The ceremony on October 22nd will be attended, among others, by the University Rector, Corrado Petrocelli; the Secretary of State for Education and Culture, Marco Podeschi; the Director of the Department of Economics, Science, and Law, Anna Corradi; the Director of the Degree Program in Civil Engineering, Angelo Marcello Tarantino; the Director of the Degree Program in Management Engineering, Alberto Dormio; the Director General of the University, Isabella Bizzocchi; the Captain of the Serravalle Castle, Vittorio Brigliadori; and a guest from the Chicco Cotto Solidarity Project.
