Public green spaces and road maintenance will be the focus of a seminar organized by the University of the Republic of San Marino, scheduled for Thursday, February 20, from 8:30 a.m. at the Palazzo del Turismo in Riccione. The initiative is made possible thanks to a collaboration between the University, the Municipality of Riccione, the Riccione Municipal Company for the Management of Environmental and Territorial Services (GEAT), and the Autonomous State Company for Public Works of San Marino (AASLP).
Speakers will include academics and experts in road maintenance, environmental assessment, public green space management, and regulatory aspects related to the use of recycled asphalt. They will come from organizations such as the Federico II University of Naples, the University of Bologna, the Italian Roads and Bitumen Association, the Environmental and Agricultural Resources Management Office of San Marino, and the Regional Federation of the Order of Agronomists of Emilia-Romagna.
The event consolidates a process initiated in 2012 by the University of San Marino's Civil Engineering Degree Program, with the aim of creating a meeting and exchange point between academic institutions and local public bodies involved in road maintenance: "This long series of in-depth discussions on Infrastructure Engineering topics," explains Professor Andrea Grilli of the University of San Marino, "has positioned our University as a point of reference for the region, strengthening relationships with local road network administrations. In addition to the scheduled presentations," he continues, "a debate is planned for February 20th that will engage the public, mostly professionals, to share their opinions in a meaningful way. The exchange of information and services between administrations, including the sharing of experiences that necessarily imply the valorization of internal professionalism, is part of the results we aim to achieve for the benefit of all involved."
