The inauguration ceremony for the 2025-26 academic year at the University of San Marino will take place on Tuesday.

Appointment at 15 pm at the Kursaal Congress Centre, on stage the Rector Petrocelli and the historian Canfora

Representatives of Italian and international academic institutions, including the Instituto Federal do Maranhão (Brazil), and the Universities of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Urbino, Bari, Bologna, Foggia, Macerata, Naples, and others, are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony for the 2025-26 Academic Year of the University of the Republic of San Marino, scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, at 3:00 PM at the Kursaal Congress Center.

And together with them, the Captains Regent, representatives of the executive branch and the Great and General Council, organizations and institutions, students, and the curious and interested are ready to listen to the speeches of the Rector, Corrado Petrocelli, and the director of the History and Law Department, Luciano Canfora, who will give a keynote lecture entitled "The 'pestles' of war."

In the now traditional and constructive atmosphere created by this event, dedicated to culture, research, and education, the Rector will highlight the key development trajectories that, since the beginning of his mandate, have led to the expansion of the San Marino university community in terms of student numbers, faculty quality, degree and specialization program offerings, the multiplication of campuses, and the quality of services offered to students and the local community. He will also take a broad, concrete look at the international context through collaborations, projects, and new initiatives announced during the ceremony.

"We have been working for some time to realize and evolve our vision of the University," explains the Rector, "to offer ever-improving, timely, up-to-date, and meaningful experiences and tools, open to a world whose nuances and complexities we strive to grasp, seeking to contribute to what best aligns with our vision of progress as individuals and as a community."

In addition to Petrocelli and Canfora, the speakers will include the Secretary of State for Education and Culture, Teodoro Lonfernini, the representative of the technical-administrative staff in the Academic Senate, Maddalena Lonfernini, and the student representative, Luca Donati.

The ceremony, which is free to attend, can be followed live on the UNIRSM website. A link to the entire event is also available at usmaradio.org.
