Sixteen doctors from all over the peninsula, from Reggio Calabria to Brescia, will receive the diploma of the Master in Geriatric Medicine from the University of the Republic of San Marino on Friday 15 December. Scheduled at 9 am in the Salita alla Rocca 44 university headquarters, in the historic center of Titano, the certificate delivery ceremony will coincide with the start of the lessons of the sixth edition of a training program that has already trained almost 100 white coats, among including 15 from San Marino, called upon to work with elderly patients on a daily basis thanks to training focused on pathologies related to aging and their treatment.
“Our initiative - explains Carlo Renzini, tutor of the initiative's teaching - has received over the years the consent of institutions also active abroad such as the International Association of Gerontology and the Italian Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics. It arises from the need to train figures capable of facing the challenges related to the problems of the elderly, both at a health and social level. Among those who attended our Masters - he concludes - some professionals have taken on managerial positions in residences for the elderly".
The Master, organized in collaboration with the University of Ferrara under the scientific direction of Giovanni Zuliani, is coordinated by Giancarlo Ghironzi.
