Monitoring of land and works of the outlet "The Market" in the thesis of a student of the University of San Marino

Over 300 hours of internship to support the professionals who supervised the monitoring and control of the geotechnical works envisaged in the approximately 25 thousand square meters affected by the works for the construction of the "Luxury Department Store San Marino - The Market" shopping complex in Rovereta. This is the activity that involved Giulia Sammarini, born in 1996, a student on the Civil Engineering degree course at the University of the Republic of San Marino, residing in Santarcangelo di Romagna. The work, distributed over three months, represents the basis of the three-year thesis which will be discussed on Monday 22 October during the inauguration day of the new university headquarters located in the Dogana World Trade Center, on the third floor of tower B, with an official ceremony starting at 16. The graduation project discussion session, which will also involve Sammarini, will start at 9:30.

"The monitoring of this type of work during all the construction and post-construction phases is an essential element for the safety, control and optimization of the calculation models", explains Francesca Dezi, professor and supervisor of the thesis. “The pole develops along a slope and involves the construction of various geotechnical works to support the land, for example reinforced concrete diaphragm walls and bulkheads of large diameter piles with different orders of tie rods. The investigations carried out with the participation of our student were carried out during the construction of the works and during the various excavation phases. The aim is to monitor any movements in the ground, the movements of the works and the like".
