Music, shows, and installations at the University's Notte Bianca (White Night)

Live music, performances, and installations will be a regular feature of the University of the Republic of San Marino's Notte Bianca (White Night) on Friday, June 3, featuring a mix of musical virtuosity and acrobatic dance, visual spectacles, and projections. Among the scheduled events, at 20:30 pm, a string concert on the Pianello will coincide with sunset, offering a unique setting for interested and curious visitors. From 21:30 pm, they will be able to watch the video mapping project that will color the façade of the Palazzo Pubblico, thanks to the initiative of the Degree Courses in Design.

At the Cava dei Balestrieri, a vertical dance performance will take place at 22:30 PM, where the walls will become the "floor" for the dance, thus altering the parameters of normal body posture and creating different modes of movement. The initiative is curated by the VisionAria company in collaboration with the Civil Engineering Degree Programs, which will also be running the "Sport Climbing Gym" starting at 20 PM, available to anyone who wants to try their hand at it. Also running at the same time is the initiative "Drones: from images to 3D representation in architectural surveys," a window into the various phases of data surveying for rock faces, landslides, and more.

Just steps from the Cava dei Balestrieri, on the Cable Car Terrace, starting at 21:30 PM, you can admire the heavens with a telescopic observation organized by the Monte San Lorenzo Observatory and the University's Department of Human Sciences. A unique opportunity to observe Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn.

At Palazzo Graziani, events will begin at 6:00 pm with a live performance by the duo "La Follia," featuring singer Martina Grossi and cellist Anselmo Pellicioni, who will attempt to transcend barriers between genres, eras, and styles, in keeping with the Notte Bianca theme of "Walls, Borders, Limits." At the same venue, at 8:00 pm, the transition from music to theater will take place with "Nel paese dei sogni," a work by students from the upper secondary school who have chosen to stage ideas, suggestions, and texts on themes such as dreams, diversity, society, and conformism.

The events also extend to the Ancient Monastery of Santa Chiara, the University's main building, where classrooms and cells will be accessible from 16:30 pm with various installations: the "Retrospective on the Border" by the International Relations Research Center will feature four video projections and a sound sculpture created between 1999 and 2014 as part of the "Sanmarinosarajevo Project" promoted by the Office of Social and Cultural Activities; "Urban Security and Road Safety" will showcase smart city applications for territorial control thanks to the collaboration of the Management Engineering Degree Program and AlphaLabs; "Goodbye Blu" will feature a screening of a video made by students of the Master's Degree Program in Design about the street artist who recently erased his works in Bologna; and "From the Borders of the Places of the Soul" will introduce a new space for studying and holding classes through an installation of mobile furniture that will allow the area to be transformed from a library to a reading room and vice versa. At the same time, the Confucius Institute will take attendees on a journey through Chinese culture, including papercutting, painting, singing, dancing, traditional medicine, and the tea ceremony.

The Emigrant Museum will feature a video installation on the San Marino migration experience, while at the first tower, starting at 16 pm, a "Guided tour and reading of the Guaita walls" will take place, curated by the Department of Human Sciences and the archaeological section of the Cultural Institutes of San Marino.

The grand finale of the Notte Bianca will take place in the heart of the University, in the gardens of the Ancient Monastery of Santa Chiara, where a space dedicated to visual experimentation will be set up, inspired by a workshop attended by several students from the Design degree programs in recent days. Starting at 22:30 pm, four electronic and contemporary music performances organized by Moho Club Discontinuo will take place. Live performances by Franz Rosati, Pearl River Sound, Roberto Paci Dalò, and Michele Selva will be followed by DJ sets by Danilo Betti and Babylon Crooks.

In case of inclement weather, events will be relocated to various areas of the University and other spaces in the historic center, duly marked for the public.
