New research in the construction sector for projects with reduced environmental impact at the University of San Marino

Selections are open for a graduate in Civil Engineering who will contribute to a study on concrete

Through soil samples from excavations and demolitions carried out in the Titano area, the University of the Republic of San Marino will try to define some concrete mixtures which, using materials otherwise destined for landfill, can be used in 'green' structures with reduced environmental impact, leading among other things to savings in raw materials.

Precisely to support the academics involved in the project, managed by the degree course in Civil Engineering, the University of San Marino has opened selections to award a research grant, lasting one year, to a master's graduate who will be asked to contribute to the definition of two concrete solutions based on different techniques and procedures, which will be subjected, among other things, to a series of laboratory tests.

“The issues relating to the use of innovative and eco-sustainable materials for the construction industry – we read in the selection notice – are to be considered relevant”. In recent years, by the way, the University of San Marino has launched several "research projects in the area of the use of eco-sustainable cementitious materials and seismic devices capable of reducing environmental impact".

The selection is open to candidates aged no more than 35 years, without restrictions of residence or citizenship. Applications to participate must be submitted by 12pm on February 14th.
