On Thursday 27 April a new Chinese language course will be inaugurated for students of Civil Engineering and Management Engineering of the University of the Republic of San Marino. For the appointment, scheduled at 13 in the university headquarters in via Salita alla Rocca 44, in the historic center of Titano, the general director of the University, Isabella Bizzocchi, the directors of the San Marino Confucius Institute, Katia Sciarrino, were invited and Jun Zhao, the Secretary of State for Education, Marco Podeschi, and the director of the Degree Course in Civil Engineering, Angelo Marcello Tarantino.
The course, scheduled until 1 June, includes two weekly meetings scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday, from 13 to 14 pm. It is organized by the San Marino Confucius Institute, the official body for teaching the Chinese language on Titan , who will supply the didactic material and make available a native-speaking teacher: "Learning the Chinese language is the basis for weaving commercial and working relationships between China and our reality, and therefore becomes useful for those studying at university level", explains Sciarrino . “In China many students study Italian especially in relation to the world of fashion, design and creativity. This opens up new frontiers of exchange with the East and creates the need for new professional figures specialized in this sector”.
From the Confucius Institute also Jun Zhao, responsible for teaching the course, is ready to define "the knowledge of the fundamental language, together with the technical-commercial and legal skills, to create new openings in the squares of international markets. In this sense – she says – the University assumes a strategic role for an education that looks to the future”. The project assumes particular relevance in the light of the relationship between the Degree Course in Civil Engineering and the University of Fuzhou, in China, where some students have recently worked on experimental theses. With this initiative, the University of San Marino also implements the services offered to students thanks to a program, currently in an experimental phase, which in the future could become part of the educational curriculum of its degree courses.
In addition to the dissemination and promotion of the Chinese language and culture, the San Marino Confucius Institute organizes meetings and seminars with experts from the Chinese world, events and shows.
