From the competition, reserved for the Design degree course, the concept of the San Marino pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka
“The qualifying element of the University of San Marino's contribution to the Expo 2025 project is represented by the freshness brought by the students. Their new and unconditional vision led to the result we were hoping for."
These are the words pronounced by Filippo Francini, General Commissioner of the San Marino government for the Universal Exposition, during the award ceremony of the finalist projects of the competition for the definition of the concept of the Titan pavilion at the appointment scheduled in Japan next year, for which 28 million visitors are expected.
The first prize of the contest, reserved for students of the Design degree course, was won by Davide Passatempi, Rachele Turci and Rebecca Ugolini. Their idea it will characterize the 53 meters dedicated to the republic, which will include, among other things, an exhibition space and a store.
Second place went to Giada Cianca, Andrea Monticelli, Mattia Pompili and Elena Scarpellini. Third was the project curated by Roberta D'Onofrio, Sara Manfredotti and Erica Tentoni.
“I am sure that this was an important opportunity for our children,” declared Laura Gobbi, general director of the University, during the awards ceremony which took place on 3 July in the great hall of the university headquarters of the Ancient Monastery of Saint Clare. “Despite facing a very great challenge, they proved to be up to it”.
Finally, the word goes to Riccardo Varini, director of the Design degree course: "The students - he said - have demonstrated that they possess the culture of know-how, giving the projects a precise imprint, with character".
