The research on the basis of 'green' asphalt used by AASLP and the University of San Marino was presented in Croatia

The eco-sustainable technologies adopted for the approximately 180 tons of material used in road maintenance operations in viale Campo dei Giudei, in San Marino City, are at the center of the research presented last Wednesday in Rovinj, Croatia, as part of the international conference “Sustainable Materials, Systems and Structures” organized by the RILEM association (International union of laboratories and experts in construction materials, systems and structures), founded in 1947 to promote scientific cooperation and the development of new technologies in the area of construction materials .

The research was illustrated by Andrea Grilli, professor of the Civil Engineering degree course at the University of the Republic of San Marino. At the center of the study is an innovative type of asphalt composed of 90% recycled material, which allows, among other things, to mix and distribute it on the ground at room temperature, therefore without any heating and with reduced energy consumption and low emissions. The asphalt was built under the direction of the Autonomous State Company for Public Works and the University of San Marino by the CBR company of Pietracuta.
