Not only teaching technological design, but also providing students with the tools needed to do so consciously, considering the implications of their work on an individual, social, and beyond level. This approach, which has long characterized the University of the Republic of San Marino, will be illustrated by two professors from the University of San Marino during Milan Digital Week, an international event that highlights the key dynamics of the virtual world, with a particular focus on sustainability.
Matteo Moretti and Paolo Rigamonti, both professors in the Design degree program, will speak during a special event scheduled for 17:30 PM on March 19th, as part of the online event. During their presentation, they will describe the dedication they devote to San Marino to training not only capable but also informed designers: "As designers," explains Moretti, "we need to understand that design is not a neutral practice. In San Marino, we train tomorrow's professionals with an interdisciplinary approach that allows students to reflect on the implications their work can have on people and society. Responsible and informed digital design, therefore, supports a better society."
Luca Savioli, director of the Lab24 section of Il Sole 24 Ore, will also be attending the event: "We will also discuss the importance of data culture and its dissemination among the population," Moretti concludes, "for designing new forms of information and knowledge, not just online."
