Health, design, technology, and more: the University of San Marino will present two research projects on World Usability Day.

On Tuesday 8 November, the University of San Marino will host an event, open to the public, of the Italian Society of Ergonomics and Human Factors (SIE).

The University of the Republic of San Marino will present two research papers during the "Our Health" conference, organized by the Italian Society of Ergonomics and Human Factors (SIE) to celebrate World Usability Day.

At the heart of the initiative, spread across four different cities and over as many days, is a series of insights into the systems that provide healthcare such as virtual and telematic health, electronic health records and healthcare products.

On Tuesday, November 8th, at the Ancient Monastery of Santa Chiara, in the historic center of San Marino, the analyses conducted by the University of San Marino, together with the Institute for Social Security and the University of Reading on the early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease will be presented, spanning the fields of design and technology. The results of a statistical study on health inequalities conducted by the Management Engineering degree program will also be released.

The event, which will take place in San Marino, Lucca, Genoa, and Trieste, will also feature the presentation of a series of theses by students from the Design degree programs at the University of San Marino and the University of Bologna. The focus will be on topics such as the diagnosis of dementia patients and devices for diabetics during sports activities.

"For several years, we have been working in the field of Health and Care to explore the role of design, planning, and technology in the future of telemedicine and the home care experience, as well as in the broader context of health and physical and mental well-being," explains Massimo Brignoni, director of the master's degree program in Interaction & Experience Design at the University of San Marino. "The conference will host reflections on pressing issues such as continuity of care and access, mental health systems, physical exercise, and nutrition. It will also address environmental issues such as the impact of air and water pollution."

Starting at 14:30 PM, the Aula Magna 'Fausta Morganti' will feature presentations by guests and scholars including Angelo Rondi, Head of Innovation & Research Skyrunner and President of the Umbria-Marche section of the Italian Society of Social Security (SIE); Andrea Sicklinger, professor at the University of Bologna; Federica Masci, researcher at the University of Leuven and President of the Lombardy-Liguria section of the Italian Society of Social Security (SIE); Pietro Renzi and Alberto Franci, professors at the University of San Marino; Francesco Tamagnini, Director of Neuroscience Research at the Biomedical Studies Center of the University of San Marino and Lecturer in Pharmacology at the University of Reading; Susanna Guttmann, Head of the Neurology Department at the Institute for Social Security; and neuropsychologist Edoardo Barvas. Free admission.
