Ten scholarships are foreseen; the call expires on 14 January 2021
“An opportunity to study with some of the most successful historians of the moment in the social, political and economic fields, philology and philosophy, literature and art history”. The one described by Paulo Butti de Lima is the possibility offered by the fifteenth edition of the research doctorate in Historical Sciences of the University of the Republic of San Marino, of which he is the scientific director.
The training course, which in recent editions has involved academics and authors such as Luciano Canfora, Aldo Schiavone, Franco Cardini, Massimo Cacciari, Donald Sassoon and Massimo Osanna, director of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, will develop between 2021 and 2024, offering opportunities for discussion, listening and in-depth study reserved for sixteen graduates from all over the world.
“Our reality – explains Butti de Lima – is characterized by an experience in which the direct relationship between the students enrolled and the teachers, coming from the most important European institutions, creates the basis for valuable academic exchanges. Our program - he continues - includes seminars held on the Titan and moments of investigation in the most prestigious academic centers of the continent. Each student will work under the coordination of a specialist chosen by the School of Historical Studies of the University of San Marino. The lessons will be held in Italian, English and French”.
The announcement of the competition through which the participants will be selected, within which ten scholarships are foreseen, is reserved for candidates who have not completed the age of 32, of any nationality, graduates in historical disciplines. Among other things, the application form must be accompanied by a research project to be defined, in the event of admission, with the Scientific Council of the Scuola Superiore di Studi Storici. It includes, among others: Maurice Aymard, Laura Barletta, Adriano Prosperi, Stefano Zamagni, Giovanni De Luna and the Rector of the University of San Marino, Corrado Petrocelli.
The application for participation in the selection must be sent by 14 January to the Scuola Superiore di Studi Storici, Salita alla Rocca 44 – 47890 – San Marino. In addition to submitting the printed material, you must complete the online registration at www.unirsm.sm/dottorato-scienze-storiche. The teaching activities will start in June 2021.
