Study semesters abroad, destinations for students enrolled at the University of San Marino are growing: meanwhile, new meetings in Japan

Two Japanese academic institutions visited on May 2 by the University's head of international relations

The University of the Republic of San Marino is working to expand its network of collaborations with Japanese universities, which in the past have already facilitated initiatives such as the implementation of training periods in the East for its students: in this sense, on Friday 2 May the head of the Internationalization Office, Maria Eleonora Vaglio, was welcomed for official interviews by two Japanese academic institutions.

“At the Ryukoku University of Kyoto, with which there is already an active agreement for the exchange of students, we spoke about the possibility, shared by both parties, of extending the agreement to professors as well,” explained the representative of the San Marino University. In this way, particularly in the field of Management Engineering, the University of San Marino could welcome and host professors from the Japanese reality to carry out, among other things, new joint research and training activities.

“At the Shizuoka University of Art and Culture in Hamamatsu, on the other hand, we have laid the foundations for the signing of a framework agreement that would further increase the number of our partners globally, increasing opportunities for our students”. During the visit, Vaglio met among others Shunta Mori, vice director of the Design area, consolidated on Titan by a twenty-year degree course.

The visits took place on the sidelines of the University's participation in the National Day of San Marino at the Osaka Expo, which was attended on Saturday 3 May by students who developed, through a competition, the concept of the white and blue pavilion.

On the international front, the selection process for students enrolled at the University of San Marino has just been completed. In the 2025-26 academic year, for the first time, they will take advantage of the opportunity to undertake study experiences abroad through the Erasmus Plus program. Destinations include Iceland, Cyprus, Montenegro, Germany, Albania and Corsica.
