The researchers of the Degree Courses in Civil Engineering of the University of the Republic of San Marino are part of the groups of academics and specialists in charge of monitoring the schools in the areas of Central Italy recently affected by the earthquake. Francesca Dezi, in particular, has already spent two days of service in Castelraimondo, in the province of Macerata, and Grottazolina, in the province of Fermo, to check the state of the school buildings.
Its presence is part of an activity coordinated by the Civil Protection and the ReLUIS consortium (Network of University Laboratories of Earthquake Engineering), through which the universities of the Lazio, Umbria, Abruzzo and Marche regions are making their contribution. In addition to Dezi, researcher Luca Lanzoni will also be on the field in the next few days. “I offered my willingness to participate in the group's activities right from this first phase dedicated to public and strategic buildings – says Dezi – my contribution concerned the surveys of the damages and the evaluation of usability. At the moment, above all, the universities of the regions concerned are involved, but this will soon extend to the universities of the whole peninsula".
