Promote the application of eco-sustainable techniques in the field of road maintenance and continue the path that led, in 2017, to the first two degree theses born from the collaboration between the University of the Republic of San Marino and the Autonomous State Company for Public Works (Aaslp). These are some of the results expected with the new memorandum of understanding that links the University and the Company, implemented with respect to the previous agreement in the light of the objectives achieved so far. A path that "allowed the AASLP to start a process of rationalization of the decision-making processes of a technical and economic nature relating to the priorities and methods of intervention, achieving an important increase in its standard" in terms of "construction and maintenance of road surfaces" , reads the document illustrated this morning at the Aaslp headquarters to representatives of the institutional and academic world. Among them the Secretary of State for the Territory, Augusto Michelotti, the Secretary of State for Education and Culture, Marco Podeschi, the director of AASS, Emanuele Valli, the president and director of AASLP, Federico Bartoletti and Matteo Casali , the Rector and the Director General of the University, Corrado Petrocelli and Isabella Bizzocchi.
Evaluating what has been done so far, the document also underlines the launch "of a continuous monitoring system of the state of conservation of the road surfaces of the area through a codified procedure, and usable today, implemented in collaboration with the Territorial Information System", as well as "the 'adoption of new contractual instruments to be placed at the basis of the tenders and the start of a systematic comparison with the operators of the sector”. The purposes included in the protocol also include the consolidation of the "method defined in the previous agreement for a more rational planning of road maintenance interventions, in order to propose technical-economic intervention scenarios within which to make spending choices". Maximum attention, therefore, to both technical choices and finances, for the new chapter of a partnership that satisfies both parties.
Lastly, a new office was inaugurated during the meeting, located in the AASLP headquarters, reserved for professors of the Civil Engineering degree course of the University of San Marino, who contribute to the operational phases linked to the protocol, and for students who will concentrate their degree thesis on the activities included in the partnership.
