Thirteen new graduates in Civil Engineering at the University of San Marino: three theses in collaboration with AASLP and Italian ANAS in the road sector

Three analyzes created in collaboration with the AASLP, the Autonomous State Company for Public Works of the Titano, and Anas, the Italian National Road Authority, were illustrated yesterday during a graduation session in which 13 students from the University of Studies of the Republic of San Marino concluded the program in Civil Engineering. Of these, three completed the three-year course, ten the master's.

Specifically, Matteo Cosmi addressed the topic "Surface treatment of road pavements with cold mortars" thanks to an internship carried out in collaboration with AASLP. His study concerned in-depth studies on areas such as the European, American and Australian regulatory references for the preparation of guidelines adaptable to the San Marino road system.

Nico Scalbi also carried out an internship at the Autonomous State Company for Public Works, who dealt with "The identification of a rational method for multi-year planning of road maintenance for the road network" of the Titano with an analysis that involved operations such as the identification of the causes and severity of the instability present in the roads of the republic, arriving at a comparison between different planning scenarios for maintaining efficiency and safety.

Finally, Gabriele Banci presented a 110 cum laude research thesis on the seismic design of structures and infrastructures according to experimentally validated advanced methods, conducted in the framework of a collaboration with ANAS and with a particular focus on the pre and post seismic upgrading behavior of a viaduct in the Ancona area.

The degree course in Civil Engineering will be involved together with the courses in Design, Management Engineering, Construction and Territorial Management, Communication and Digital Media, in the Open Days scheduled for 22 and 23 March in the premises of the Ancient Monastery of Santa Chiara, in the historic center of the Titano, and the World Trade Center of Dogana. Exhibitions and presentations open to the public are on the calendar. Read more about www.unirsm.sm/openday.
