The competition, open to young people and students, is organized by the University of San Marino together with San Marino Innovation
What will be the characteristics of the innovation at the heart of the entrepreneurial idea selected to represent the Titan in the next edition of the international competition POPRI Youth Project, included in the strategies of the European Union for the Adriatic and Ionian area? The answer is expected on March 28, 2025, when a jury composed of academics and institutional representatives will analyze the finalist projects of a competition organized by the University of the Republic of San Marino in collaboration with San Marino Innovation.
The participation methods are described in a notice published today and expiring on February 9: the initiative is open to citizens of San Marino between 18 and 29 years of age (not yet completed), as well as to those enrolled at the University of San Marino, without limits of nationality and of the same age group. Ideas developed by individuals or groups of four members maximum are admitted. There are no limits of sector, product or service.
The projects submitted will face two selections: from the first, scheduled for the end of February, a shortlist of finalists will emerge who on March 28 will present their ideas in front of a jury that will include six figures from the Department of Foreign Affairs, the University of San Marino, San Marino Innovation, the Secretariat of State for Industry and the Secretariat of State for Education and Culture.
Candidates are asked, among other things, to provide a business plan in which to include a description of the proposed product or service, a series of market analyses and three plans: marketing, economic - financial and organizational. The decisive parameters will be originality, industrial feasibility and economic sustainability.
The competition is organized with the support of the two Secretariats of State present in the jury and the Secretariat of State for Foreign Affairs. The first, second and third place winners will be identified among the finalists, who will receive a portion of the total prize money of 3.000 euros. Furthermore, those who have created the winning project will access the 2025 edition of the POPRI Youth Project, scheduled for next May in Greece. The initiative, which in the last two decades has involved over 3 participants from countries such as Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Albania, is established as an opportunity for discussion and growth, in the name of entrepreneurial opportunities, for students and young people.
“The objective – as stated in the text of the announcement – is to promote the development of local entrepreneurship and the culture of innovation through a mechanism aimed at encouraging the birth of new businesses” in the republic, “generating a virtuous circle”.
