Nineteen students from the University of the Republic of San Marino participated in the summer camp organized by the Confucius Institute of San Marino at Beijing City University, China. Before leaving, the students had attended Chinese language courses run by the institute. A series of lessons and workshops on music, calligraphy, painting, and sports awaited them in Beijing, along with excursions to sites of interest such as the Great Wall of China.
"This experience was truly one-of-a-kind," explain Sara Cerosio and Vittorio Peretti, two Management Engineering students who participated in the initiative. "The welcome was very warm, and engaging activities were organized that allowed us to discover Chinese culture through interactive workshops on subjects such as paper cutting, knotting, Chinese medicine, and beauty masks. Also noteworthy were the guided tours of destinations such as the Temple of Heaven and the Forbidden City."
The summer school took place from July 14th to 27th and included high school students, for a total of over thirty participants. Exploring Chinese culture and traditions is central to the Confucius Institute's mission, fostering, among other things, stronger collaboration between the two institutions and facilitating youth mobility.
