Tomorrow morning eleven doctors from Titano and from regions such as Emilia - Romagna, Marche, Abruzzo and Lombardy will receive the diplomas of the fourth edition of the Master's in Geriatric Medicine at the University of the Republic of San Marino. The ceremony, scheduled for 9:30 in the Residenza La Fiorina rest home, will coincide with the start of a new cycle of the training course, aimed at white coats who work in close contact with elderly patients. The course of study was born, among other things, in the light of the progressive increase in the "senior" population in Italy and the consequent need for professionals capable of meeting the needs of a group characterized by a decline in functional and cognitive status, by clinical instability and reduced mobility.
“Having now reached the fifth edition - says Giovanni Zuliani, director of the Master - we can state that our initiative has been welcomed with great enthusiasm by the numerous participants from all over Italy and abroad. To date it remains the only program of this type in the Italian and European panorama”.
The doctors who will start the new cycle of lessons, organized in collaboration with the University of Ferrara, are 16 and come from Emilia — Romagna, Marche, Lombardy, Veneto, Puglia and Calabria.
