The history of women in antiquity and the changing division of social roles through the words of Federica Guidi, archaeologist at the Civic Archaeological Museum of Bologna, and a series of images of artifacts preserved in the State Museum of San Marino. This is one of the events included in the program of the University of the Republic of San Marino's Notte Bianca (White Night), scheduled for Friday, June 9th under the slogan "Mending the World Again," an edition dedicated to women's roles and sensibilities in fields ranging from science to the arts. Guidi will give a lecture at 7:00 pm at the State Museum, introduced by Paolo Rondelli, director of the Cultural Institutes, and Paola Bigi, head of the Archaeological Section.
From 5:00 PM to 6:45 PM, the State Museum will host the family workshop "What Hands Are These? Points, Signs, and Drawings," led by Juan Carlos Ceci. This project focuses on "drawings, engravings, and paintings from the Upper Paleolithic. Participants, divided into groups of 4 or 5, will use red and yellow ochre, water, brushes, spray cans, natural colors, and charcoal to create their own works on large-format paper depicting ancient animals, mysterious geometric signs, and hand stencils." To participate in the initiative, which is open to adults and children, registration is recommended by writing to dsu@unirsm.sm or calling +39 333 8485460. Both events, titled "Hidden — Signs of Women," are organized by the University's Department of Human Sciences and the State Museum's Archaeological Section.
Among the events scheduled during the University of San Marino's Notte Bianca (White Night) is a concert by the all-female ensemble Giostremia, performing music from the European and South American traditions on the stage set up in the Cantone del Macello, starting at 7:00 PM. The performance will feature Simonetta Agarici (piano), Sara Jane Ghiotti (vocals), Serena Lucchi (flute), Michela Zanotti (viola), and Emanuela Valmaggi (guitar).
