Massimo Clerici

Biographical profile

Massimo Clerici did his medical (1980) and psychiatric (1984) training at Milan University in Milan (Italy). He got a Ph.D. in Psychiatry and Relational Sciences, also from the University of Milan (1988). From 1988 until 1991 he was the chair of the Clinical and Research Unit of the Association for Research on Schizophrenia (ARS, Member Society of World Psychiatric Association. Since 1991 (till 2007), he got the position of Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at the University of Milan (S. Paolo University Hospital, Medical School in Milan), of Associate Professor in Psychiatry at the University of Milano Bicocca from 2007 and Full Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Milano Bicocca from 2019.

From 2002 to now, he is in charge of the position of President of the Italian Society of Addiction Psychiatry (SIP.Dip, special section of the Italian Society of Psychiatry) and from 2010 he is also President of the Association for Research on Schizophrenia (ARS , member society of World Psychiatric Association since 2007) and board member of different professional and scientific societies.

He is also the Editor of the Addiction's Book Collection of Franco Angeli Publisher, Milan) and maintains till now other collaborations with different Italian and international Journal's and Book's Publishers (Bollati Boringhieri, Il Pensiero Scientifico, Masson, Elsevier, Springer). Italian co-Editor of the “Italian version of the APA DSM 5 and different books (Case Reports, Guide-Lines, etc) of the APA DSM IV and IV-TR.
