Subject
The research project aims to experiment and apply the tools that the different design disciplines offer for the valorization of the material and immaterial cultural heritage of micro-territories, small urban centers and fortified cities.
Learning outcomes
The research program intends to explore the main aspects of the design process in the field of Design for the enhancement of the cultural heritage of small fortified cities and micro-territories through the direct participation of the communities, with particular attention to the digital development of networks and the most innovative and recent forms of narration. The declination of the project on the Historic Center of San Marino will be able to bring new forms of exchange between the community, local authorities and neighboring territories also through the involvement of experts, artists or innovators. This will allow us to have a real reference on which to experiment, collect data and feedback that will allow us to develop practices and methodologies that can be reproduced in other contexts.
Furthermore, among the research activities, starting from the end of 2022, a mapping of national and international case studies was activated, which led to the publication of a database, the definition of an analysis framework and the sharing of a report of the collected data presented during the international symposium of the same name hosted at the University of the Republic of San Marino on 22 and 23 June 2023.
