Subject

The research is aimed at reconstructing the migratory experience of minors from San Marino in the period 1923 – 1940; the period is defined by the year of issue of the passport as a document of expatriation in substitution of the documents – Foglio di via and Foglio di espatrio – used up to that date and by the year of Italy's intervention in the Second World War. The research is based on the analysis of the archival sources preserved in the Historical Archive of the Emigration Research Centre.

Learning outcomes

  1. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of Sammarinese child emigration;
  2. Identification of emigration methods and destinations;
  3. Identification of starting conditions and jobs performed.

Status of works

Research started. The research will conclude with the production of teaching material on the topic and the design of an educational documentary exhibition.
