Michele Chiaruzzi

Profilo biografico

Michele is the founding director of the Research Centre for International Relations, where he has been the leader of the San Marino Research Team on the Erasmus + Project on Challenges to European Small States (2018-2021). He was a PhD scholarship holder of the Graduate School of Historical Studies at San Marino directed by Luciano Canfora. He has held Visiting Fellowships at the University of London (LSE), University of Cambridge, Brown University, University of Queensland and the Bruno Kessler Foundation at Trento. He lectured at the universities of Montréal, Sarajevo, and Milan. He has been appointed in the Board of Governors of the University of San Marino (2014-2017), where he currently serve as member since 2020. At the University, he is Rector’s Delegate for International Affairs.  He is a Life Member of Clare Hall College, Cambridge, and collaborates with the Institute of the Italian Encyclopedia Treccani in Rome. He is also member of the editorial board of the journal Rivista di politica, and an associate professor of History of Political Thought and International Relations at the University of Bologna. He won the Institute of Advanced Studies ISA Topic 2020 prize on ‘The false’. An ambassador in Sarajevo, he is a 5th dan Taekwondo black belt.
